Air Quality in Winnipeg Homes

Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRV)

An HRV brings fresh air into a tightly sealed home while recovering the heat from outgoing stale air. It's not an optional luxury in a well-sealed Manitoba home — it's what prevents CO2 buildup, moisture damage, and stale air problems.

Many newer homes already have an HRV installed but improperly commissioned or never serviced. We install new units and service existing ones.

Whole-Home Humidifiers

A single-room humidifier is a bandage. A whole-home humidifier, installed on your furnace, maintains consistent humidity throughout the house all winter. Better air quality, less static, healthier for wood floors and furniture — and your furnace feels warmer at lower temperatures, so you can turn the thermostat down slightly.

We install bypass and fan-powered humidifiers — both work, fan-powered units are more effective in high-efficiency homes.

UV Air Purifiers

UV systems installed in your ductwork kill bacteria, mould, and viruses as air passes through. Effective for allergy and asthma sufferers, and for homes with mould concerns. We install and replace UV lamps (they need annual replacement to maintain effectiveness).

Electronic and HEPA Filters

Standard 1-inch furnace filters don't capture fine particles. High-efficiency media filters or electronic air cleaners do a much better job — without the airflow restriction of a thick HEPA filter that can starve your furnace.
